Journal

As a writer and an introvert I guess journaling has just come to me naturally. Seeing so many benefits to journaling, it is important to me to encourage others to try journaling as well. While it is easy for some, I believe journaling is for everyone even though it may take a bit of a nudge to get some going. You don't have to be a writer to journal. You don't have to be good at grammar or word usage. Journaling is really just for you, unless you choose to share it with someone.

Journaling helps me discuss things with myself. Writing down my thoughts gets me to a deeper level of thinking. It's similar to sharing my heart with another person even though it's just me and the paper. Have you ever had a friend just listen while you talk something through? You figure out the answer without your friend saying a word, and you leave saying, "thanks for your help". You just needed someone to talk it through with. Journaling provides the same experience.

Even in the midst of a crowded, noisy coffee bar, journaling gives us a place of solitude. Many of us don't have enough alone time, but journaling provides solitude even when things are happening around us. Learning to enjoy the solitude of journaling can help you have a different perspective on your life and relationships. Journaling is an adventure in itself that gives us a place to widen our observations, sort through feelings and experiences, and feed our imagination.

Keeping spiritual journals has drawn me closer to God, increased my faith, and made me willing to live an adventure with God.

I journal to remember.
I journal to let go of memories.
I journal to see more clearly.
I journal to gain perspective.
I journal my gratitude.
I journal God's promises.
I journal my prayers.
I listen to God and journal His responses.
I journal my dreams and things that inspire me, which sometimes includes pasting pictures into the pages of my journal, because journaling is simply putting your heart on paper, any way you choose.

I would love to do a journaling workshop for your group. Use the contact form on the Home page to get in touch with me for more information.
